Chairman, Kerala Gramin Bank
Mr. Nagesh G. Vaidya is a banker with over 30 years of rich experience and is presently Chairman of Kerala Gramin Bank, which is one of the largest Regional Rural Bank in the country.
He holds an MA (Economics), MBA, and MCA degree and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). He started his banking career as a Probationary Officer in Canara Bank & has worked in almost all key segments of Banking in various capacities across wide geographical spread in the country and abroad.
Before joining Kerala Gramin Bank as Chairman, he was head of the Guwahati Circle of Canara Bank, which has operations in seven northeastern states. He successfully steered it to become the bank's No. 1 Circle.
He has held leadership roles in various departments/ segments and field leadership positions like Vertical head and Circle head. During his exemplary career, he has gained vast exposure in Branch Banking, Credit, Information Technology, Recovery, Risk Management, Financial Inclusion, Digital Banking, Retail Banking and Marketing.
Mr. Vaidya is member of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and Computer Society of India. He is also a member of various committees formed by the Government of Kerala and NABARD on Agriculture and Priority Credit.
Ever since he took over as Chairman of the Bank, Kerala Gramin Bank has received several awards from the IBA, PFRDA, NPCI, etc. The Bank was also adjudged the Best Bank for Rural Development by SFBCK, received the Micro Lending Award under the Gold Category from ASSOCHAM, and received the Global award from M/s Infosys for Process Innovation.
