What is UPI Circle?

UPI Circle is a new feature that allows a primary user to authorize a secondary user to make UPI transactions from the primary user's bank account

Who can use UPI Circle?

Any UPI user who wants to securely delegate payment access can use UPI Circle to authorize trusted individuals with limited control.

What are the main benefits of UPI Circle?

The main benefits include broadening UPI usage across different demographics, providing financial access to those without bank accounts, and offering supervised spending for those who need it.

What controls does the primary user have?

The primary user has full control over who can access their account for UPI transactions. They can set monthly transaction limits and monitor all transactions.

Can I set a limit on how much the secondary user can spend?

Yes, under Full Delegation, the primary user can set a maximum monthly spending limit for the secondary user. Maximum limit of ₹15000 is allowed

How does this feature enhance security?

Despite allowing access, the primary user maintains oversight of transactions and can revoke access at any time.

Do secondary users need their own bank accounts to use this feature?

No, even users without bank accounts linked on UPI can use UPI Circle feature to make payments.

Can I monitor the transactions made by the secondary user?

Yes, the primary user can monitor all transactions made by their secondary user

How does this feature help with family expense management?

It makes it easier for family members or dependents to manage expenses without requiring access to the primary user's entire bank account.

Can I revoke the delegated access if needed?

Yes, the primary user can revoke monthly limits given to their secondary user at any time

Can secondary users make all types of UPI transactions?

Yes, secondary user can make all types of transactions via UPI Circle.

Can I set different transaction limits for different secondary users?

Customized monthly limits for each secondary user are possible under full delegation.

Is this feature available on all UPI apps?

Is there any transaction limits for UPI Circle?

Yes, under Full Delegation, per transaction limit is ₹5000 and under partial delegation, daily UPI limits of the primary user shall be available for the secondary user

How many secondary users can I have?

A primary user can have maximum 5 secondary users, and one secondary user can have maximum one primary user.

Is there any cooling period to make transactions?

Yes, there is a cooling period of ₹5000 for the first 24 hours after linking with a primary user

Can I modify the limits under full delegation?

A primary user can modify monthly limits given to their secondary user at any time

Can I setup both partial and full delegation for my secondary user?

Yes, under full delegation the secondary will have option to request the primary to pay as well.

How does partial delegation work?

Under partial delegation, primary user must approve every transaction requested by their secondary.

Whats the difference between full and partial delegation?

Full delegation allows the secondary user to make UPI payments independently with the authorised monthly limit provided, while partial delegation limits action and requires primary user's approval for every payment. Each mode offers varying control and security levels.

How does full delegation work?

Under full delegation, primary shall authorize the secondary user to a monthly limit of maximum ₹15000. Secondary user shall make payments using the authorized limit. Primary user is notified after every transaction.
