DEVELOPING TALENT @ NPCI


As part of organizational focus on individual talent development, a number of programs and initiatives have been launched across the organization. One such initiative is to encourage employees to go for self certification and the same is supported by Certification Reimbursment Guidelines. It is heartening to see employees are working on their self development and have started completing these certifications programs. Following employes have successfully completing their certifications till Oct 2020:

As per the guidelines shared earlier, an employee had to complete one year of service in NPCI after availing the Certification Reimbursement, or else the same would be recovered from the employee as part of the full and final settlement. From July 29, 2020 onwards, this clause has been revised to six months. All employees are encouraged to take advantage of these guidelines to further enhance their capabilities and skills through certification.

A) e-Gurukul:

e-Gurukul is a critical part of the overall Talent Management process, being an extensive repository of materials covering a wide range of topics. The following graph gives an overview of the e-Gurukul usage:

SME Sessions

  • SME Sessions are a popular way of understanding nuances of various specialized functions in NPCI, including their challenges as well as tips and tricks. The SME sessions have been receiving excellent response from employees. The following is a summary of the sessions held in September and October 2020:

C) I-evolve Talent Development:

  • The mentoring-connect and IDP feature has been enabled for all employees. Three demo sessions were held to explain about the IDP and Talent tool process, with each session covering 300+ employees
  • Three Theme based workshops are planned in November for employees in Band Level C1 and above
  • One on One coaching has been started for leaders

D) Specialized Learning Programs:

The following were some specialized Learning programs conducted in the months of September and October, 2020:

The following are some comments shared by attendees of Influencing Skills and Customer Focus Learning Programs:

  • “After this training we understood the way to approach our stakeholders in a better way to get our requirements done.”
  • “Clustering of groups and enabling/monitoring/motivating individual participation through sub session was impressive.”
  • “The content was correct and relevant. People could relate to it.”
  • “Group activity on the case study was most helpful in understanding customer needs and delivering services.”

E) A two hour AI/ML session was held for 50+ leaders, with external experts Pramod Varma and Vivek Raghavan as speakers

F) A three-hour Interactive workshop on AI/ML was conducted by Prof Vikram Pandya for all employees at Band Level C1 and above. The following are some comments shared by attendees of the session:

  • “Helped get business overview of how AI/ML can be leveraged.”
  • “It was a wonderful session. Gave good understanding about how and when ML can be used. The practical scenarios were helpful.”
  • “Good session. We should continue this series further.”
  • “Statistics was difficult to understand but practical examples helped get introduced to AI/ML world.”
