Bharat BillPay empowers consumers of Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. for easy bill payment

Bharat BillPay, the one stop bill payment ecosystem launched by NPCI has on-boarded Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) through Paytm Payments Bank to empower 90 lakh consumers for easy bill payment. Currently, Bharat BillPay has enabled 125 Billers out of which 95 billers are live across India. There are over 1.9 million agent outlets spread across the country and nearly 37 thousand agents have a presence in Punjab. Other major national billers on-boarded in Telecom Postpaid are Airtel, Vodafone, Jio Postpaid, Idea, Aircel, BSNL, MTNL and the national billers in DTH category are Tata Sky, Videocon DTH, Dish TV etc. The regional Power and Gas Billers who are a part of the Bharat BillPay ecosystem in and around Punjab State are Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, Siti Energy and Haryana City Gas Distribution Ltd.

One Nation One Card

With the vision of digitising the low value payments across various segments including transit and mobility, Niti Aayog has come up with the initiative of One Nation One Card based on National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) specification. With the stored value provision on RuPay Contactless Debit Cards (NCMC), customers will have hassle free payments across transit systems in India. Banks have started working under the guidance of Department of Financial Services (DFS) for issuance of RuPay Contactless debit cards. 10 banks have already been certified by NPCI and are ready for issuance. 5 additional banks are in the process of certification and 6 more banks have applied for the certification process. Niti Aayog and DFS have emphasized upon creating the RuPay Contactless Ecosystem for issuance and acceptance.
