National Electronic Toll Collection achieves 25 per cent digital transactions at toll plazas

Implementation of NETC system has completely changed the way various toll plazas operate within the country, whether run by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and private operators (Concessioners). Total number of FASTags issued under this program has touched 28.79 lakhs in the month of August 2018. The total value of NETC transactions processed in August 2018, stood at Rs 463.88 crores with a daily average of Rs. 15.46 crores. Daily transaction volumes have been steadily growing from 30 thousand in December 2016 to a daily average of 6.80 lakh transactions in August 2018.

  • NETC is live on 429 toll plazas across the country (422 National Highway plazas and 7 State Highway Plazas).
  • As on August 2018, we have 21 banks with us covering 120+ concessionaires, 25 System Integrators with a provision to add many more Issuers and Acquirers.
  • Achieved 25 per cent penetration which means 25 per cent of the total value of toll collections are now through the NETC programme.

National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) system is a platform created by NPCI for processing toll payments electronically. It’s an interoperable system working with different issuer and acquirer banks and toll plazas working with different proprietary toll management system (TMS).
