Resignation of director
Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Nominee Director from Punjab National Bank has resigned from the directorship of NPCI due to superannuation from the Bank. The Board placed on record its appreciation for the valuable guidance provided by him, during his tenure as Director of the Company.
BHIM UPI Customer Experience Zones
NPCI team organised Customer Experience Zones at two corporates namely Bharat Diamond Bourse and PNB MetLife Insurance in November. The initiative attracted over 2500 visitors at NPCI kiosks deployed at these locations. NPCI officials showcased our flagships products like Bharat Interface for Money – Unified Payments Interface, RuPay etc. Employees were encouraged to download BHIM app and make digital transactions. In order to drive more usage, several restaurants in the vicinity were enabled with UPI QR to accept payments.
Now pay CESC electricity bills with UP
Customers of Calcutta Electricity Supply Company Ltd. can pay their bills through Unified Payments Interface (UPI) as the company goes live on the platform at its website and App. UPI ID collect and web QR on Bill Desk gateway is now accepted for facilitating payments. CESC is India’s first fully integrated electrical utility company and they have been on an epic ride ever since 1899 in generating and distributing power in Kolkata and Howrah. They have private participation in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power.
Seamlessly pay home loan EMIs through UPI
Mahindra Rural Housing Finance Ltd. (MRHFL) now accepts home loan EMI repayments via push transactions from the customers to MRHFL UPI ID. Customers can now repay their home loan EMIs using UPI for which they will have to initiate the transaction mentioning MRHFL (type the account number)@HSBC.
Purchase electronics online, consult doctor and pay via UPI
Weston Electronics, a leading brand in the consumer electronics and home appliances space is now live on UPI platform. Customers can now make the payment through UPI on purchase of electronics online. In another development, DocsApp, a chat based healthcare platform also went live on UPI through PhonePe.
Delivery executives collect bills on UPI
Swiggy, a popular food ordering and delivering company has gone live on UPI for their delivery executives or agents for cash collections. Swiggy agents can now seamlessly send the collected cash to Swiggy UPI ID from their UPI app.
Pay through UPI while ordering food
UPI payment is implemented for in-store purchases via Static QR at Chef Baker’s outlets. Customers can now complete their purchases with seamless and secured payment option offered by UPI at counters. PitaPit, a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) chain that has a unique approach towards providing healthy alternatives to the typical fast food options have also enabled UPI mode of payment for faster checkout.
FINSPIRE session for banks
A financial literacy session - FINSPIRE was conducted for Janseva Sahakari Bank officials on November 17 in Pune. It was attended by 40 bank officials where a presentation on NPCI products such as RuPay, BHIM UPI, USSD based *99#, BharatQR and Aadhaar Enabled Payment System were delivered.
