Mobile Van for digital literacy with Mann Deshi Foundation

The first of its kind, a mobile bus for digital financial literacy by Mann Deshi foundation was inaugurated on July 31, 2017 in Navi Mumbai. NPCI Financial Literacy and Advisory Services team being the knowledge partner has supported the initiative by training the trainers of the foundation on digital financial literacy. A live training session was conducted in Marathi language which was attended by 48 villagers. The enthusiastic audience had RuPay cards, were able to download BHIM app and perform one successful transaction each. The 3 hour long event included interactive games and open discussions on various issues related to digital payments and banking norms. Alongside NPCI, organisations like CRISIL, HSBC, MDF and Mann Deshi Mahila Bank participated in the event.

Digital literacy for last mile with BAIF development agency

A group of close to 75 people comprising of BAIF employees, researchers, finance managers, social development project team, and people from 4-5 SHG federations attended the digital literacy session at BAIF research centre in Urulikanchan,Pune. The workshop was meant to digitise and educate the BAIF employees on various digital payment products which will be carried forward to their clientele base of 2 lakh people across 16 states. This alignment with BAIF is helping NPCI achieve its mission of touching every Indian with one or other digital payment product by 2020. In connection with FLAS efforts to reach out to the agri-business & development agency domains, FLAS is reaching out to farmers with organizations like ISAP in North India, BAIF in Western India and planning many more such outreach programmes, aligning with RBI’s vision of last mile financial inclusion.

NPCI Campus Connect

Human Resource vertical of NPCI has commenced a new initiative ‘Campus Connect’ to engage with students of select universities. The purpose is to create awareness about the organisation, its products like Unified Payments Interface / Bharat Interface for Money and to encourage digital payments. It also serves the purpose of pre-placement talk at the campuses before NPCI visit the institute for campus hiring. HR team conducted two such events in August at Pune and Hyderabad which gathered students from about 17 universities. BHIM App activation drive was also conducted at these institutes. NPCI aims to reach out to over 3000 students through this initiative.
