NPCI connects with the youth

NPCI connected with the youth at IIM – Bangalore’s annual fest – Unmaad on February 2-4. BHIM was integrated as a payment option at three major outlets in the campus. NPCI team assisted merchants in printing and providing BHIM QR for accepting payments. BHIM was the official payment partner in Unmaad 2018.

Similarly, IMT Ghaziabad’s annual fest – Chakravyuh 2018 was powered by BHIM on February 8-11. The event encouraged several students to download BHIM and other UPI apps for making payments.

UPI & IMPS enables digital payments at e-NAM

National Agriculture Market (e-NAM), a pan-India electronic trading portal which networks the existing APMC mandis has gone live on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) through ICICI Bank on Web. About 470 Mandis across 14 States are live on e-NAM which creates a unified national market for agricultural commodities.

Scan & Pay through BHIM UPI

Customers of Richfeel can now simply ‘Scan & Pay’ QR code from any UPI app, add the amount and pay for the availed services instantly. UPI integrated static QR code has been implemented at 21 clinics of Richfeel and over 75 clinics will be covered in coming weeks. In another development, about 50 medical outlets of MedPlus has implemented BHIM UPI static QR in Bangalore and Hyderabad. Customer can authorise the payment within a few seconds and complete their payment instantaneously. Moreover, about 300 restaurants of JRB Group, which runs Swagath and SagarRatna outlets have enabled UPI payments through Trupay for accepting digital payments.

Pay for groceries, food bills though BHIM UPI

Payments through BHIM UPI has been enabled by Grofers India. The entity has gone live with UPI through ICICI Bank on App intent for customers. Grofers India services are available in 25 cities across India. In another development, McDonald’s has gone live on UPI through PhonePe for their customers. McDonald’s currently operates over 250 restaurants across 34 cities and 10 states in west and south India.

Pay gas bills through BHIM UPI

Over 7.5 lakh customers of Indraprastha Gas Limited can now scan the QR code with BHIM app or any other UPI linked bank app to pay their bills without any hassle. One can scan BHIM UPI enabled QR code which is printed on the bill. Once scanned, bill details will be displayed on the app post which the customer can authorise the payment by entering UPI PIN and pay their bill instantaneously.

NPCI organises experience zones for BHIM UPI

NPCI officials continue to organise experience zones for employees of Reliance Energy in Mumbai. The activity attracted over 300 employees who were provided assistance on BHIM download and usage. Contests on BHIM app were also conducted in order to appeal the audience and encourage them to use digital payments in their daily chores. About 200 employees downloaded BHIM App and successfully linked their bank account with the app. BHIM App downloads have touched 25 million mark in the previous month.
