NPCI digitises merchants associations at Nashik

NPCI conducted special camps for traders at Nashik district in association with Benow in February 5-7. It was organised to give them QR codes that will enable them to receive payments from consumers through digital payment mode and thus encourage the cashless system. Around 40 merchant associations of Nashik district had been contacted by NPCI to take part in this campaign.

Merchants with proper KYC documents were given BHIM UPI QR kit with which they would be able to accept payments.Merchants would be ready to accept payments through the ‘Scan & Pay’ feature of BHIM or any other UPI apps.

At the end of three day campaign, about 350 merchants and shopkeepers signed up for the QR kit to accept digital payments. ‘Scan & Pay’ option is present in the Home page of BHIM App where one can click and to open the QR scanner. Users can scan the QR code of the receiver to send money.
