Google India launches UPI based Tez App

Google’s Tez app, based on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) went live on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Google launched the App at an event in Delhi in the presence of Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitely. One can seamlessly send money home to their family, split a dinner bill with friends, or pay the neighbourhood chaiwala by using this App. A user can make all payments whether large or small, directly from their bank account.

Airtel Payments Bank integrates UPI on its platform

Airtel Payments Bank announced integration of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform on its banking app. Airtel Payments Bank is the first UPI-ready payments bank in India. UPI integration will enable Airtel Payments Bank customers to enjoy easy and quick domestic money transfers and merchant payments in real-time. Customers no longer will be required to furnish their bank details to enable transaction, ensuring data security. Customers can now use Airtel Payments Bank app to scan any UPI QR for making merchant payments on any UPI enabled merchants both online or offline. Onboarding for UPI is an easy process where customers can activate their UPI handles by simply updating their My Airtel App and selecting UPI from the ‘Bank’ section.
