NPCI hosts financial literacy through ‘Campus Connect’ for students

NPCI’s Human Resource vertical is conducting a pan-India series of financial literacy campaigns under its ‘Campus Connect’ initiative. The objective is to create awareness about significance of having a less-cash society to celebrate World Literacy Day. It also serves the purpose of pre-placement talk at the campuses before NPCI visits the institute for campus hiring. The financial literacy workshops have been initiated from August to integrate digital payments in campuses across the country. Reputed management institutes of Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Mumbai will host over 3,000 students from about 35 universities where they will be familiarised with financial products like Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM)/ Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Besides, they are also encouraged to participate in ‘NPCI Ideathon’ - brainstorming sessions for presenting fresh ideas to improvise on UPI / BHIM Apps.

NASSCOM Foundation associates with NPCI to spread Digital Financial Literacy

NASSCOM Foundation in association with NPCI’s Financial Literacy & Advisory Services team is working for National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM). It is a scheme to provide digital literacy to every Indian. Officials of NPCI familiarised sub-urban section of the society with digital payment products offered by the organisation at various NDLM centers like Chennai, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune. The program with NDLM intends to educate millions of Indians.

An effort to include differently abled to the world of digital finance

On the occasion of International Literacy day on September 8, NPCI and Pune University conducted a financial literacy session for visually impaired people. Participating students were handed over product manuals which were transcribed in Braille, the language which would enable a visual impaired person read. Through this initiative, NPCI’s FL&AS team made an attempt to bring the visually impaired section of the society under the ambit of digital financial literacy.

Financial literacy awareness for Agora employees

NPCI’s FL&AS team conducted training on NPCI products for about 15 Agora employees on September 19 who work across slums in Maharashtra. The trainees did live transactions on Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) and USSD based *99#. This association with Agora employees is to train people in slums across Maharashtra on digital payment products by NPCI and make them digitally enabled.

NPCI conducts workshop for various departments of Jharkhand Government

NPCI officials visited Ranchi to deliver a workshop on digital payments to various departments of Jharkhand government such as Urban Development Department, Energy Department and Common Service Centres (CSC) on September 22. About 35 representatives from Ranchi and other districts attended the workshop which includes presence of designated district level heads of CSC and Tax Department. Members were introduced with NPCI’s products with its features and benefits. A presentation on BHIM/UPI and Bharat QR attracted positive interest among all the members present. The audience were also familiarised with use cases of BHIM/UPI.

Workshop for Power Finance Corporation’s Integrated Power Development Scheme

Power Finance Corporation organised workshop for utility officers involved in Integrated Power Development Scheme who work in different utilities across the country. NPCI officials delivered a presentation on digital payments. About 50 participants from electricity distribution companies of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana attended the event.
