Training for Blue Collar Staff of NPC

NPCI officials conducted digital financial literacy workshop for their blue collar staff in Mumbai. Three workshops were conducted to familiarise our support staff with products like RuPay, BHIM UPI and USSD. Staff was enthusiastic and keen on learning about the benefits and usage of digital banking products.

Financial Literacy workshop for 150 cadets in Nashik

A Financial Literacy workshop was conducted by NPCI officials at Nashik, Maharashtra for about 150 NCC cadets. The cadets were informed about various digital payments platforms introduced by NPCI including BHIM UPI. Cadets were also encouraged to download BHIM app and were familiarised with usage of BHIM for feature phone users as well. BHIM service can be used without internet. Customers can dial *99# to avail this service.

Financial Literacy Workshop for Visually Impaired People

After launching of NPCI product details in Braille on International Literacy day i.e. September 8, 2017, NPCI officials conducted a workshop for the blind people on October 10 in Mumbai. The event was organised in association with Blind Organization of India (BOI) which witnessed participation of over 70 visually impaired people. NPCI officials distributed reference material in braille to the participants.

FINSPIRE session at Varanasi

A Financial literacy session called FINSPIRE was conducted at the zonal office of Bank of India at Varanasi in October. About 40 bank officials from 20 BOI branches participated in the session. Participant were given presentation on NPCI all products- RuPay, BHIM UPI, Brarat QR, AePS and USSD.

Training of Trainers

Under ‘Training the Trainers’ initiative, NPCI conducted workshops with several institutions to spread awareness on digital payments.

  • Operations staff of Friends of Women’s World Banking (FWWB) were given training on the NPCI products with demonstration videos to make their team empowered take the financial literacy modules of NPCI to the rural audience.
  • Ananya Finance is routing through microfinance institutions and farmer producer organizations to reach to the last mile. AnanyaFinance is providing capacity building support to all the partner organization. Under the same capacity building scheme, operations staff of Ananya Finance was trained about NPCI products, which will be used in the field for last mile financial inclusion.
  • NPCI officials conducted two programs for field staff, management staff and community leaders related to BAIF. The programs were conducted on 10 August’17 and 6 October’17 at Pune and Nagpur respectively. BAIF is one of the largest Agri-based NGOs in western India supporting thousands of farmers. It has nearly 2 lakh clients across 16 states who transfer money on a daily basis for the various everyday activities.
  • NPCI officials organised a program at Agribusiness Systems International (ASI) office in Lucknow where all the officials of ASI had attended the program. ASI has planned to reach out to a group of 12,000 people under a series of training programs. This literacy sessions are aimed at people who have bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana but are not aware about the use/incentives of RuPay Debit cards.
