Fintech Accelerator Hub inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavisis is an initiative by the Government of Maharashtra. It’s a unique public private partnership with an objective to build an ecosystem to drive the growth of fintech companies in Maharashtra.
The accelerator provides startups access to benefits under the state’s fintech policy along with business integration opportunities with partner institutions. NPCI being the forerunner in Digital Payments has associated as a Powered by sponsor for the Accelerator Program which will catalyse entrepreneurship and create opportunities to scale through this accelerator. The objective is to nurture and enhance the talent pool lying in the fintech ecosystem to drive Innovation in Digital Payments.

RuPay Global Cards crosses 64 million issuances

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has reached a milestone by issuing over 64 million RuPay Global cards, since first issuing it in 2014. Leveraging the established interconnection between the two payment networks, the scope of this strategic relationship covers issuance of co-branded RuPay-Discover debit and credit globally accepted cards by NPCI member banks in India. The RuPay Global Debit and Credit cards are currently issued by 40 banks. They can be used for purchases at merchant locations and cash withdrawals on the Discover Global Network at major countries like USA, Singapore, Srilanka etc. where cardholders travel. The Discover Global Network includes Discover Network, Diners Club International, PULSE and affiliated networks.

RuPay contactless cards launches at NMMT

National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has joined hands with Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) and HDFC Bank to launch Navi Cards. The card will enable Navi Mumbaikars and those travelling to the city to make use of the prepaid card to pay NMMT bus fares. Currently, the acceptance will be enabled only in selected routes. HDFC Bank is the first bank to issue cards to NMMT commuters. Customers can get these contactless cards over the counters of NMMT bus depot. Navi cards can be seamlessly used at retail outlets having POS terminals, E-commerce and ATMs.

Navi Cards are designed in line with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) guidelines to offer secure, user friendly and cost effective solution to facilitate low value payments and build cashless transaction environment.
