NETC digitalises 25 per cent of the total volume of toll collections
NPCI is working closely with NHAI to enable digital payments at toll plazas and as a result, about 25 per cent of the total volume of toll collections are now through National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) programme. NETC achieved 22 million transactions with total value of Rs. 500 crore in October. The total value of transactions during October, September and August were 22 million, 20 million and 20 million while the value stood at Rs. 500 crore, 470 crore and 463 crore respectively. NETC has also achieved a new milestone of highest number of transactions in a single day on October 13 with 7.77 lakh transactions. Average daily transactions count for the month of October was 7.17 lakh.
BHIM UPI clocks over 482 million transactions
Bharat Interface for Money - Unified Payments Interface (BHIM UPI) achieved over 482 million transactions in the month of October. The total value of transactions stood at Rs. 74,978 crore. UPI volume (UPI, BHIM and USSD 2.0, *99#) during October, September and August were 482 million, 405 million and 312 million while the value stood at Rs. 74,978 crore, Rs.59,835 crore and Rs. 54,212 crore respectively. BHIM is a mobile phone based app that allows simple, easy and quick payment transactions using UPI. One can easily make direct bank to bank payments instantly and collect money using mobile number or payment address. It is a unique payment solution which empowers an individual with immediate send and collect request.
IMPS marks over 154 million transactions
Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), the platform which works 24 X 7 has achieved over 154 million transactions in the month of October. The total value of transactions stood at Rs. 1,40,306 crore. IMPS volume during October, September and August were 154 million, 135 million and 133 million while the value stood at Rs. 1,40,306 crore, Rs. 1,25,639 and Rs. 1,23,733 crore respectively. IMPS provides robust and real time fund transfer service which offers an instant, 24X7, interbank electronic fund transfer service that could be accessed on multiple channels like Mobile, Internet, ATM, SMS and Branch. As on October 2018, total number of banks live on IMPS platform were 394.
