Bharat BillPay empowers over 2.79 crore consumers of Tamil Nadu for easy bill payment

Bharat BillPay, the one stop bill payment ecosystem launched by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has on-boarded Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), through Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), to empower over 2.79 crore consumers for easy bill payment. Other major Billers on boarded are Sun Direct DTH, Vodafone, Idea postpaid, Aircel postpaid, BSNL, Tata Sky, Dish TV etc. The approved categories of billers on Bharat BillPay are: Electricity, Direct-To-Home (DTH), Telecom (Mobile postpaid, Landline postpaid and Broadband), Water and Gas. Once bills are paid, the consumers receive instant confirmation in the form of SMS or/and email or Print receipt with the Bharat BillPay logo.

Currently, there are 77 billers across India with over 1.7 million agent outlets and nearly one-lakh agents in Tamil Nadu which makes the ecosystem accessible to a consumer base of over 2.79 crore.

Bharat BillPay is an ecosystem that provides one-stop interoperable bill payment solution and enables the consumers of banks and non-banks across India to make bill payment via their preferred mode of channel like Website, Internet Banking, Mobile App/Banking, KIOSK or physical centres like Agent/Bank-Branch/Business Correspondents etc.

BHIM UPI clocks over 190 million transactions

Bharat Interface for Money - Unified Payments Interface (BHIM UPI) achieved 190.09 million transactions in the month of April. The total value of transactions stood at Rs. 27,021 crore with the average ticket size of Rs 1,422. UPI volume (UPI, BHIM and USSD 2.0 -*99#) during April, March and February were 190.09 million, 178.05 million and 171.40 million while the value stood at Rs. 27,021 crore, Rs. 24,172 crore and Rs. 19,126 crore respectively. BHIM is a smart mobile phone based app that allows simple, easy and quick payment transactions using UPI. One can easily make direct bank to bank payments instantly and collect money using mobile number or payment address. It is a unique payment solution which empowers an individual with immediate send and collect request

IMPS clocks over 109 million transactions

Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), the platform which works 24 X 7 has achieved 109.55 million transactions in the month of April. The total value of transactions stood at Rs. 1,02,240 crore with the average ticket size at Rs. 9,333. IMPS volume during April, March and February were 109.55 million, 110.16 million and 99.25 million while the value stood at Rs. 1,02,240 crore, Rs. 1,03,804 and Rs. 88,270 crore respectively. IMPS provides robust and real time fund transfer service which offers an instant, 24X7, interbank electronic fund transfer service that could be accessed on multiple channels like Mobile, Internet, ATM, SMS and Branch. As on April 2018, total number of banks live on IMPS platform were 364.
