Jana Bank launches small finance operations with RuPay cards
Customers of Jana Bank will be able to make digital transactions at POS, e-commerce sites and ATMs through RuPay cards. Bank launched its commercial operations in July and will be issuing RuPay cards to their customers. Over 1100 banks are issuing RuPay cards to their customers which has contributed to over 525 million in circulation. There are over 1000 domestic and over 1000 international offers attached with RuPay cards.
Jagannath devotees make donations through BHIM UPI
Devotees of Jagannath who celebrate the Rath Yatra at various locations could make digital donations by simply scanning QR codes deployed at events in Mumbai. NPCI enabled donation collection system via QR through Benow. This year Rath Yatra was celebrated on July 14 in Mumbai.
BHIM UPI enables distributors to go less-cash
JK Distributors, a pharma distributor in Mumbai catering to over 700 retailers and over 100 companies has enabled BHIM UPI solution to digitalise the process of receiving money form their retailers. They have introduced UPI as one of the payment options in their invoices through which retailers make payments through any UPI enabled application to the Merchant VPA created by DCB Bank. Payments are being credited directly to JK Distributors in their primary bank account. The solution has reduced operation issues like collection hassle, Cash/cheque handling charges, cheque bounces and reversals for the entity.
