UPI Biometric PIN Set using UIDAI lets you create your UPI PIN using your Aadhaar-linked fingerprint or face recognition instead of waiting for SMS OTPs. Your government-verified biometric identity becomes the key to set up secure digital payments.
What is the product solving
Setting up UPI PINs traditionally requires OTP verification, which can be frustrating when SMS messages are delayed or don't arrive. Many people also struggle with remembering PINs or worry about others seeing them type. This feature eliminates OTP dependency and uses your unique biological features that nobody else can replicate, making the setup process both faster and more secure.

Transaction Process Flow
Initial Setup:
- Open your UPI app and select "Set UPI PIN" option
- Choose "Biometric PIN Setup" if available in your app
- Verify that your Aadhaar is linked to your bank account
- App connects to UIDAI systems for verification
Biometric Verification:
- Position your face for camera scan
- UIDAI system verifies your biometric data against government records
- Once verified, you can create your new UPI PIN
- Confirm your new PIN through second biometric scan
PIN Creation:
- Enter your desired 4-6 digit UPI PIN
- Re-enter PIN to confirm
- Complete setup - your PIN is now active for all UPI transactions
