BHIM Aadhaar Pay enables Merchants to receive digital payments from customers over the counter through Aadhaar Authentication. It allows for any Merchant associated with any acquiring bank live on BHIM Aadhaar Pay , to accept payment from customer of any bank by authenticating customer’s biometrics.

To be able to effect the same, merchant should have an Android mobile with BHIM Aadhaar app and certified biometric scanner attached with mobile phone/Kiosk/Tablet on USB Port or Micro-ATM/POS, mPOS. Both Customer and Merchant should have their Aadhaar linked to their Bank Account.

1. What is BHIM Aadhaar Pay ?

BHIM Aadhaar pay is an Aadhaar based payments interface which allows real time payments to Merchants using Aadhaar number/Virtual ID of Customer & authenticating him/her through his/her biometrics.

2. What can I Do with BHIM Aadhaar Pay?

Merchants can initiate transactions where customer can pay money using their Aadhaar no/ Virtual ID and authenticate it using their biometrics for the goods and services purchased.

Merchant can View the transaction whether it is Successful transaction, Pending Transaction or Failed Transaction.

3. Where do I pay with BHIM Aadhaar Pay?

Customer can pay using Aadhaar number/ Virtual ID & biometrics at all merchant locations where BHIM Aadhaar Pay is accepted.

Merchant will enter customer details and amount in his BHIM Aadhaar Pay App and customer has to provide his biometrics on the Merchant App after selecting his bank.

4. Is BHIM Aadhaar Pay available for all handsets and Operating System?

BHIM Aadhaar Pay is available for all Android Smartphones. The minimum requirement for Android version is 4.4.

5. Is there a limit for a transaction?

The per transaction limit is Rs.10,000 .

A Merchant would be defined as:

Any entity which is engaged in trading of goods and services and is receiving the payment through BHIM Aadhaar pay App of the Banks using Aadhaar Authentication of Customer.

Aadhaar Authentication should be done by merchant using any Registered device viz, Micro-ATM/POS, mPOS, Kiosk/Tablet/Mobile Handset.
