RuPay card crosses 500 million mark

About 1100 banks, comprising of public, private, regional rural banks and co-operative banks are issuing RuPay cards to their customers. Total number of RuPay cards in circulation has crossed 500 million mark. In other development, while interacting with beneficiaries of the various Digital India efforts, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recently pushed for use of RuPay by highlighting the fact that when RuPay cards are used for purchases, the transaction details and processing fee remains in India.

NETC processed over 18 million digital transactions at toll plazas in June

Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) systems are completely changing the way various toll plazas operate, whether run by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and private operators (Concessioners). NETC program has made some significant progress and achieved quite a few milestones. NETC transactions in June, May and April were 15.93 million, 17.72 million and 18.28 million while the value stood at Rs. 391 crore, Rs. 423 crore and Rs. 428 crore respectively.

Bharat BillPay enables 85 billers across the country

Bharat BillPay has enabled 85 billers in its ecosystem. NPCI functions as the authorised Bharat Bill Payment Central Unit (BBPCU). BBPS functions as a tiered structure for operating the bill payment system in the country under a single brand. Instead of using multiple apps or logging to different websites or even travelling to various collection points, the brand empowers and promises a “One-stop destination” for payment of all utility bills. Currently, Bharat BillPay facilitates mobile and landline payments, electricity, gas, DTH categories for bill payments.
