Mr Gupta has joined NPCI on deputation from State Bank of India. Mr Gupta is M.A. (Economics), M.com and MBA (JBIMS) coupled with Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. He possesses 32 years diversified banking experience at SBI in area of Branch Management, Credit Appraisal, Training, New Product Development and marketing. At NPCI, Mr Gupta will be heading the vertical for Financial Inclusion and Government Payments. Mr. Gupta had been instrumental in introducing several technology products viz., Pre-paid cards in domestic and foreign currency, Debit Cards, Contactless Cards, Biometric Cards, Mobile Banking, Integrated Payment Hub and Merchant Acquisition Services at Corporate Centre. He shall coordinate with UIDAI, Member Banks, RBI, IBA and Govt. Departments in order to promote Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) and promote cashless environment. He had been closely associated with Bank’s strategies for Debit cards, Prepaid cards, Mobile Banking and Merchant Acquiring Business.
