Position: Assistant Manager - Data Centre
Number of Positions: One

Role and Responsibilities

Assistant  Manager – Data Centre is responsible for ensuring DC uptime & compliance by performing high level tasks as defined below:

  • Expected to support critical system environment 24x7 & be available in shifts on need basis
  • Experience in Monitoring Tools implementation – (preferably CA NMS)
  • Provide Technical Support on following technologies within Data Centre
  • Hands on experience on SAN storage (EMC, DELL, HP, IBM)
  • Storage provisioning on SAN – creation, extension of LUN’s, Storage groups etc.,
  • Managing RAID groups, LUNs, Storage groups
  • Performing SAN upgrade
  • Experience in LUN allocation for SOLARIS, WINTEL, VMWARE platforms
  • Handling Storage related calls regarding performance, additional disk requirements
  • Enabling and disabling ports on SAN Switches according to the requirement
  • Configuring Zone on SAN Switches to assign LUN to the respective hosts
  • Storage group / zone masking to HBA
  • Experience on multipath implementation on SOLARIS, WINTEL, VMWARE platforms
  • Experience on performance reports and capacity planning for SAN
  • Vendor coordination & escalation for support on SAN related issues
  • Daily monitoring & SAN health check
  • Installation, Configuration, Administration and troubleshooting for VMWARE ESX servers / Windows Hyper-V
  • Creating and Managing  Virtual Machines and Templates
  • Working with snapshots of Virtual Machines
  • Creating Clusters for High Availability and Dynamic Resource Scheduling
  • Hot and Cold Cloning of Virtual Machines using VMware Converter.
  • Migration of Virtual Machines using VMOTION and Physical machines using P2V
  • Setting up Users and Groups for access to the Virtual Center
  • Setting up resources for CPU Hyper threading
  • Setting up Memory Reservations and Limit using techniques like Ballooning and transparent Page Sharing
  • Setting up Alarms for Various Performance Reasons
  • Vendor coordination & escalation for support requirement
Windows & Intel
  • Installation & Configuration of Windows 2003, 2008 & 2008 R2 Servers, LINUX
  • Managing & Troubleshooting Windows / Linux installations in Data Centre
  • Managing Domain Server, TMG Proxy, DNS Server
  • Managing AD Users, Groups, OU, Site policies, group policies
  • Guide team of L2 resource towards solution & project support on Windows & Linux platform
  • Ensuring proactive system monitoring and health check
  • Identifying patching requirement and ensuring same are in sync as per NPCI policy
  • Capacity planning of WINTEL servers
  • Disaster Recovery setup of business critical WINTEL based applications & database
Security & Compliance
  • Security & Compliance -
  • Ensuring Server & Database Hardening as per policy and guidelines
  • Tracking license deployment and ensuring compliance
  • Audit & Compliance: Timely actions taken on report, control, analyze and rectify any identified vulnerabilities and exceptions(ongoing)
  • Ensuring Data Center security as per organization security policy
  • Change Management – Ensuring change management process is followed for any system level changes
  • Incident & Problem Management
    • Ensuring Incident is logged and follow up till closure
    • Involve relevant Production Support team to resolve problems
    • Vendor coordination for support & resolution of Hardware & OS related problems
Educational Qualification: BE / B.Tech (CSE, ECE/IT), B.Sc (CS)
